Epson’s T502 ink can be used to refill the EcoTank ET-3850, an all-in-one supertank inkjet printer. It has three connection options—Wi-Fi, USB, and Ethernet—supports Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint, and it works with the Epson Smart Panel mobile app. Although its scanner has an automated feeder, it cannot support duplex scanning and does not have fax capabilities. It can print double-sided documents automatically and has a 250-sheet input tray.
Domestic use
The Epson EcoTank ET-3850 is highly recommended for domestic use. With its many connectivity possibilities, printing papers from a tablet, smartphone, or PC is a breeze for every member of your home.
Because replacing ink is inexpensive and the supertank system offers a high page yield, it also requires less maintenance. Regarding print quality, documents are quite crisp, and images, while grainy and not very color-accurate, look vivid and detailed. Sadly, printing color documents and photographs takes a while.
Office use
The Epson EcoTank ET-3850 is a great option for home based offices or small scale businesses. It creates printed documents of excellent quality and, best of all for offices that print a lot, its ink tank holds a staggering quantity of pages in both black and white and colour.
Unfortunately, it prints colour papers slowly; it produces black documents rather quickly. It also does not enable duplex scanning, so you will need to manually scan pages that are twice as long.
For students
For students, the Epson EcoTank ET-3850 is a great option. Its exceptional page yields for both colour and black-only documents, along with its supertank technology, lead to an extremely low cost-per-print. In order to accommodate bulkier objects like textbooks, it also features a flatbed scanner with extended lid hinges.
However, if you need to print a large number of pages quickly, this is not the ideal option because it takes some time for the printer to activate and print the first page after inactivity.
Black and white printing
Epson EcoTank ET-3850 is an excellent printer for printing papers in black and white. It prints documents with crisp formatting, and because of its supertank system, you may print large quantities without worrying about upkeep. Although it prints papers in black only quite quickly, it does require some time for the printer to warm up and print a page after being idle for a while.
Photo printing
The Epson EcoTank ET-3850 prints high-quality photos. It captures a vast spectrum of colours and minute details, however the images appear grainy and the colour reproduction isn’t very precise. The primary advantage of this printer is its low maintenance costs due to the large print yield of the ink tank and the affordable ink bottles. It prints photos rather slowly, unfortunately.
