The HP OfficeJet 8015e is a low-cost all-in-one inkjet printer ideal for domestic usage or small commercial ventures. It is compatible with both the high-yield 910XL cartridges and HP’s 910 ink cartridges. Although it features an ADF-equipped scanner, neither duplex scanning nor faxing are supported.

Wi-Fi and USB connectivity are available, along with Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint support. The HP Smart app, which you can use with this all-in-one to do a variety of tasks and add additional functions like optical character recognition and mobile fax, is compatible with it.

Domestic use

For family use, the HP OfficeJet 8015e is a suitable device. It is an excellent choice for printing documents, but it is not the best for printing photos because of its limited colour gamut, which causes the printed images to appear considerably darker and less detailed than the originals. Printed photos also appear quite grainy. Although most households will probably find its feature set satisfactory, be aware that its ink cartridges are expensive to replace because they run out rapidly.

Office use

The HP OfficeJet 8015e performs at a satisfactory level when used for commercial activities. It churns out lovely, crisp documents, but the ink cartridges run out rapidly, requiring more regular maintenance.

Moreover, although having an ADF, it cannot enable duplex scanning, and the automatic feeder itself results in skewed scans. Overall, it prints at a respectable pace; it prints black and white papers really quickly but takes longer to print colour documents.

For students

For student use, the HP OfficeJet Pro 8015e is a good option. It is simple to print from a variety of devices thanks to its wired and wireless networking choices, support for Mopria Print Service, and compatibility with Apple AirPrint. It prints at a respectable speed, creates documents of excellent quality, and allows for automatic double-sided printing. Regrettably, regular printing might result in recurring expenses since ink cartridges deplete easily and need to be changed frequently.

Regarding the scanner, while it features an automated feeder, utilizing it results in skewed scans, and the hinges on the lid of the scanner are unable to open to accommodate larger objects, such as textbooks.

Black and white printing

When it comes to printing papers in black and white, the performance of the HP 8015e printer is quite ordinary. It prints at a respectable speed of 15 pages per minute and creates crisp papers. But because its ink cartridges run out easily and need to be replaced frequently, there are significant ongoing expenses.

Regarding the scanner, although it includes an automated feeder to handle lengthy documents with many pages, it can only scan up to four pages per minute and isn’t compatible with duplex scanning. Additionally, while utilizing the feeder, scans appear skewed.

Photo printing

The HP 8015e is mostly intended for office use, therefore even with its high rating, it isn’t the best printer for printing photos. Pictures appear substantially darker than in the originals because to its limited color gamut, which also results in a severe loss of fine details. Additionally, images appear rather grainy, which is a common drawback of office-oriented models intended for document printing. Its low page yield, which leads to a high cost-per-print, is another disadvantage.
