The Canon SELPHY Square QX10 is a small photo printer that prints pictures using heat and dye sublimation. It uses a single colour cartridge containing separate cyan, yellow, and magenta dye transfer films that, when heated to a specific temperature, transfer to the picture sheets. Because of this, it prints photographs considerably better than some other inkless and cartridgeless printers, with much more realistic-looking colours.
Regretfully, its cartridge only holds 20 images, so if you want to print more while you’re out with friends, journaling, or making a picture wall, you’ll need to bring along an additional cartridge and pack of photo sheets.
Domestic use
It’s not a good idea to use the Canon SELPHY QX10 for anything other than photo printing at home. Nevertheless, for a little picture printer, it prints reasonably accurate colors and photographs with a respectable appearance. Instead of using ink, it makes use of dye-sublimation transfer film, although it can only handle 20 images.
Office use
You shouldn’t use the Canon SELPHY QX10 for office use. It’s a small, text document-only dye-sub printer designed for printing snapshots.
For students
While it’s not a good idea to use the Canon SELPHY QX10 for document printing, it is a good printer for students. This dye-sub photo printer allows you to print images directly from your phone.
Black and white printing
Black and white printing is not recommended with the Canon SELPHY QX10. It’s a small, text document-incompatible dye-sub picture printer.
Photo printing
The Canon SELPHY QX10 is not suitable for printing a wide variety of photo sizes. It is only able to print 2.4″, 2.6″, and 2.7″ square images because it is restricted to proprietary 2.84″ x 3.35″ (72mm x 85mm) sheets. Positively, you can easily use your images as stickers because the sheet backing is sticky and the sheets are a nice size for journaling or hanging on your wall. Although some colors in printed photographs don’t look exactly like in the originals, they nevertheless look very accurate and have a respectable degree of detail.
