HP Smart Tank 7301: A supertank all-in-one inkjet printer

This is a supertank all-in-one inkjet printer, the HP Smart Tank 7301. Compared to traditional inkjet printers that use replacement cartridges, it has a substantially better page yield and cheaper running expenses because of its refillable ink tank. Although duplex scanning is not supported, it features a flatbed scanner with an automated document feeder to handle numerous single-sided sheets. It is compatible with Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint, and it has Ethernet, USB, and Wi-Fi networking options.

For domestic use

For family use, the HP Smart Tank 7301 is fantastic. Even with everyone in the house printing frequently, the cost of ownership is kept cheap by its supertank architecture. Even though colour accuracy and colour gamut are far from class leading, printed documents and images look crisp and clear. Sadly, its scanner yields crooked and jagged reproductions, and its lid cannot be adjusted to better fit heavier books and periodicals.

For office use

For offices, the HP Smart Tank 7301 is an excellent option. Even if you frequently print lengthy, multi-page papers, its high page yield guarantees that you can go for months without having to replace its tank, lowering operational costs. Printed documents have crisp text and well-rendered features, making them of exceptionally high quality. Regretfully, the scan quality is just passable and the scanner itself does not support automatic double-sided scanning.

For students

For students, the HP Smart Tank 7301 is a great option. You may quickly print from your phone or laptop thanks to its extensive set of connectivity options. Its supertank architecture provides it a tremendous page yield, but the start-up costs are significant. The real cost of ownership is really minimal when you consider how inexpensive ink refills are. It’s not the ideal option if you need to print a lot of sheets quickly because of its performance issues, which include taking a while to warm up. Also, the scan quality is not very good.

Black and white printing

When it comes to printing in black and white, the HP Smart Tank 7301 excels. The printer’s supertank design ensures a massive page yield and crisp, highly legible printed papers, so even if you print long documents many times a week, you won’t often need to buy ink refills. The printer does include a flatbed scanner with an ADF, but the quality of the scans is only average, with text that seems jagged and details that are not well portrayed.

Photo printing

There are a few significant limitations with the HP Smart Tank 7301 when it comes to printing photographs. Images are clear and realistic, but because of the limited color gamut, colors that seem very different in the source document sometimes blend together in the printed version. Additionally, color fidelity is mediocre, but not to the point where it looks strange. The printer produces an audible clacking and grinding sound when printing on 4×6 photo paper.
