The Canon PIXMA TS3720 is an affordable all-in-one colour inkjet printer. It is the Canon PIXMA TS3520 is replaced by it. It uses Canon’s PG-275 black and CL-276 colour ink, and it is also compatible with Canon’s PG-275XL and CL-276XL high-yield cartridges. Like its predecessor, it has a two-cartridge system with a black and tri-colour cartridge. Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, USB, Apple AirPrint, Mopria Print Service, and Canon’s PRINT app are among the connectivity choices available. It features a basic 8.5″ x 11″ flatbed scanner that can only be used for manual duplex printing; it does not have fax capabilities.
For domestic use
The Canon PIXMA TS3720 is an acceptable option for family use. Its colour printing is its strongest point; colour documents print crisply, and images retain their vibrancy without seeming overly saturated. Because its cartridges only last for a small number of pages before needing to be changed, it has a high cost per print. Its scanner is average because the image processing in the document settings overexposes colours and eliminates fine details and the background. For colours and background details, scanning with the photo settings works best; however, this setting also introduces paper grit. Everyone can easily access the printer thanks to the good connectivity choices.
For office use
There is a problem with the Canon PIXMA TS3720 as an office printer. Its build quality is mediocre, it prints slowly, and it has a horrible cartridge system with extremely low page yields. Colour documents have a nice appearance, but black-and-white print quality is mediocre; therefore, if you need to print a lot of grayscale charts or illustrations, colour is not a suitable option. Similarly, environments requiring the scanning of several lengthy or double-sided documents are not well suited for it because it just has a flatbed scanner.
For students
For students, the Canon PIXMA TS3720 is not up to par. Because of the extremely poor page yields of its cartridges, it has substantial recurring costs if you print on it frequently. Likewise, printing takes time, so if you frequently find yourself printing projects at the last minute, this is not a suitable option. This printer produces a lot of noise around fine parts, therefore it’s best suited for printing colour documents rather than black-and-white documents. This is especially true if you need to print charts or graphs. Nevertheless, its connectivity choices are respectable, and generally, using the Canon smartphone app is a great experience.
Black and white printing
For printing in black and white, the Canon PIXMA TS3720 performs poorly. Because of the awful page yield of the ink cartridges, the cost-per-print is extremely high; if you print frequently, you will need to replace the cartridges frequently. It’s not easy to perform this maintenance; somebody with larger hands may find it difficult to reach the printer’s internals through the single little opening. Text prints with good black print quality are OK, but the printer has trouble reproducing fine details, thus fine lines in charts and graphs appear fuzzy.
Photo printing
For printing photos, the Canon PIXMA TS3720 works fairly well. Overall, the photographs it produces are vivid, detailed, and have fair color fidelity. Its printing sizes are, however, a little bit restricted because glossy photo paper can only print images up to 5″ x 7″ (127 mm x 177.8 mm). Furthermore, because the cartridges have limited page yields, you should replace them often if you print a lot. This can be difficult to accomplish because the printer’s internal components are only accessible through a single, tiny opening.
