Designed for use in homes and offices, the Epson EcoTank ET-4800 is an all-in-one printer. It is nearly identical in design to the previous Epson EcoTank ET-4700 that it replaces. It’s a supertank printer, so you can refill its sizable reservoirs with Epson T522 ink. It lacks duplex scanning support, but it does have an automatic document feeder and a flatbed scanner with fax capabilities. Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and USB connectivity choices are available, along with support for Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint.
For domestic use
For family use, the Epson ET-4800 is fantastic. You won’t need to buy fresh ink refills very frequently because its four big ink tanks can print hundreds of pages. Since refills are reasonably priced, the cost per print is kept to a minimum. Sharp and detailed images with passable color accuracy are perfect for printing stickers, handmade cards, or food shots, among other informal uses. You will need to manually turn over the stack because it is unable to print on both sides of your pages automatically. Because it’s an inkjet printer, you need print frequently to avoid printhead clogging; if you print just once or twice a month, this isn’t a viable option.
For office use
The Epson ET-4800 is a good printer for office use. Even if you print 100 pages a week, you won’t need to buy refill bottles too frequently because you can print hundreds of pages before the black and colour tanks run empty. You’ll be ready for most office tasks with its built-in fax, automatic document feeder, and flatbed scanner. Sadly, double-sided paper cannot be automatically scanned or printed by it, thus you will need to manually flip the pages over when the printer asks you to. Additionally, it prints slowly, so you’ll have to wait a while for your document to print—especially if there are several users of the printer in your company.
For students
For students, the Epson ET-4800 is an excellent printer. Even if you print lengthy assignments frequently, you won’t have to worry about constantly replacing the ink tanks because it produces thousands of black and color pages before the tanks get empty. Because ink refills are cheap, the cost-per-print is further reduced. If you need to digitize your notes or make copies of textbook pages, it features an automatic document feeder and a flatbed scanner in addition to several wireless networking choices. It prints slowly, which is unfortunate if you need to print off a lengthy report before class.
Black and white printing
For large-scale black-and-white printing, the Epson ET-4800 is a good option. Even if you print a lot of multi-page papers every week, you won’t have to spend a lot of money on ink refills because it can print hundreds of pages before the cartridge runs out. Long documents may take many minutes to print out due to its sluggish printing speed. Additionally, you must manually turn the pages over when the printer urges you to do so because it is unable to print double-sided sheets automatically.
Photo printing
As a device for printing photos, the Epson ET-4800 is passable. Images are crisp and detailed, although there are some issues with colour accuracy. It’s not the greatest option if you use photo prints for professional or semi-professional purposes, but it’s acceptable for informal photo prints for art projects or home décor. Sadly, banding may result from clogging and misalignment problems with the printer.
