The HP DeskJet 2855e/2852e is an affordable all-in-one inkjet printer. It takes the place of the HP DeskJet 2755e, and like that model, it is an HP+ that offers free ink for three months through HP’s ink replenishment program. It is compatible with both the high-yield 67XL variants and HP 67 ink cartridges. In addition to Wi-Fi and USB connectivity, Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint are supported. It features a basic 8.5″ x 11″ flatbed scanner that can only be used for manual duplex printing; it does not have fax capabilities.
For domestic use
For family use, the HP DeskJet 2855e is not up to par. Its low print yield means that ink cartridges need to be changed frequently, which raises the cost of ownership. Its document print quality is mediocre at best, and images appear flat and artificial due to its limited colour gamut and poor accuracy. It features a scanner, but the image processing blurs small details, making the scan quality poor. Moreover, there is no automated feeder to swiftly process documents with several pages. The good news is that every member of the family can easily access it thanks to its reasonable amount of connectivity choices, which include Wi-Fi, USB, and compatibility for Mopria and AirPrint.
For office use
For offices, the HP DeskJet 2855e is not recommended. While colour papers have greater quality, printed black documents are just passably excellent. Professionals that require the crispest-looking prints to present to clients may find this to be insufficient. Additionally, it only supports manual duplex printing and prints slowly. Because of how quickly its ink cartridges run out, it requires some upkeep. Furthermore, the input tray has a maximum capacity of 60 paper sheets. There is a scanner, but it doesn’t have an automatic feeder, and the image processing distorts small details, so the scan quality isn’t great.
For students
For use by students, the HP DeskJet 2855e is not up to par. It’s a rather small device with good space-saving capabilities and a respectable assortment of connectivity choices, such as USB and Wi-Fi. But the quality of documents it prints is just passably good, and the poor page yield means you’ll need to replace the cartridges frequently, which raises the cost of ownership. Additionally, it only supports manual duplex printing and prints slowly. The scanner’s scan quality is average, and it has trouble scanning textbooks because its lid hinges can’t extend to accommodate bulky objects.
Black and white printing
The HP DeskJet 2855e produces documents in black and white in very poor quality. It prints slowly —just seven pages per minute — and with mediocre quality. It also has a low yield of black pages, which means that ink needs to be changed frequently and at a high ongoing expense. There is a scanner, but it doesn’t have an automatic feeder, and the image processing distorts small details, so the scan quality isn’t great.
Photo printing
For printing photos, the HP DeskJet 2855e performs poorly. It has problems printing fine details and can only reproduce a limited spectrum of colors. Photos that have been printed show the printer’s printing pattern and clearly erroneous colors. Additionally, because the ink cartridges wear out rapidly, you must replace them frequently, which raises the expense of upkeep. It doesn’t enable borderless printing, however it can print in a variety of sizes up to 8.5″ x 11″ on glossy paper.
