The HP ENVY 6455e is an all-in-one colour inkjet printer. This printer is identical to the HP ENVY 6455, but it includes a six-month supply of ink via HP’s ink subscription program, HP+. It works with the HP 67 and HP 67XL ink cartridges and has a two-cartridge system with one black and one tri-colour cartridge. The scanner does not have fax or duplex scanning capabilities, however it does have an automatic feeder. It is compatible with the HP Smart mobile software, supports Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint, and includes Wi-Fi and USB connectivity.
For domestic use
For family use, the HP ENVY 6455e is a poor choice. Its document print quality is mediocre at best, and printed photographs appear muted and lack definition because of its limited colour gamut. The scanner itself isn’t the best choice for digitizing images because, despite having a high scan quality, it struggles to capture finer details. Sadly, the ink cartridges dry out rapidly, requiring frequent replacements that, if you print a lot, can be highly costly. Positively, it can be easily connected from a range of devices because it has good connectivity options and is compatible with HP’s feature-rich app.
For office use
The HP ENVY 6455e is inadequate for office use. It uses cartridges with terribly low page yields, so it requires lots of maintenance and has high running costs. It also prints slowly, and the print quality isn’t very good. It has an ADF to process multi-page documents but can’t automatically process double-sided documents. It doesn’t have an Ethernet port, which might be a problem for offices that rely on a wired LAN connection.
For students
For students, the HP ENVY 6455e is a mediocre printer. Because of its poor page yields and high cost-per-print for both black and colour documents, you may quickly accumulate expenses for ink cartridge changes. It prints only six black or four colour pages per minute, and its document print quality is poor. It is difficult to close the scanner’s lid over bulkier objects, like textbooks, because the hinges on the cover cannot be extended. The printer does, however, offer an automatic feeder for processing lengthy documents, and you can convert them into searchable PDFs by using HP’s OCR software.
Black and white printing
The HP ENVY 6455e is not up to the task of printing documents in black and white. Even though replacing cartridges are inexpensive, you’ll still incur significant costs over time due to its terrible black page yield. Large print tasks may take a while to complete because to its slow printing speed and poor print quality, which causes some banding in black-and-white papers. It can’t conduct duplex scanning, so you have to manually flip papers that are double-sided. However, it does include an ADF and a flatbed scanner.
Photo printing
The HP ENVY 6455e is mediocre for photo printing. Its limited colour gamut results in pictures that appear subdued and lack depth, and printing a single image takes some time. In addition, photo printing can be quite costly due to the short lifespan of ink cartridges, which require replacement of the complete tri-colour cartridge even if just one colour runs out. Positively, borderless printing and a range of picture paper sizes are supported.
