The HP OfficeJet 250 Mobile Printer is an all-in-one, portable inkjet printer that uses the HP 62 Black and HP 62 Tri-Color ink cartridges in a two-cartridge system. Additionally, it is also compatible with the high-yield HP 62XL High Yield Black and HP 62XL High Yield Tri-Color cartridges.

It is equipped with an ADF scanner but lacks a flatbed scanner. USB, Wi-Fi, and Wi-Fi Direct are among its connectivity choices. Direct printing from external USB devices, such as hard disks, is also possible. Lastly, it has compatibility with the HP Smart App and support for Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint.

Domestic use

The HP OfficeJet 250 is a good choice when bought for use within the family. It prints black and color documents that look fantastic. It also features an ADF scanner, but sadly, scans come out skewed since the paper guide doesn’t feed sheets into the scanner correctly. Moreover, it can’t scan or print double-sided pages automatically. If you print a lot, you’ll need to replace the ink cartridges frequently because page yields are low. If you don’t print frequently, there’s a chance of clogging, which requires more maintenance. Lastly, there are numerous connectivity choices, such as Mopria Print Service and Apple AirPrint support.

Office use

Offices should avoid using the HP OfficeJet 250. Since it’s a portable printer, offices with high print volumes shouldn’t use it. Although it prints papers quite slowly and has a poor page yield, its print quality is superb. Although it has an automatic document feeder, it is slow and unable to perform duplex scanning, which is not ideal if you frequently deal with papers that are double-sided. Because the paper guide isn’t feeding paper through the scanner correctly, scans are also skewed.

For students

For students, the HP OfficeJet 250 is a good printer. It is a portable printer, thus high-volume print loads are not its strong point, even though it prints crisp black and color pages. If you frequently print lengthy term papers at the last minute, this printer isn’t for you because of its low page yields and slow printing speed. You cannot scan pages from a notebook or textbook with it because it only has an ADF scanner and no flatbed scanner. Lastly, the printer’s numerous connectivity choices and user-friendly companion app make it simple to access.

Black and white printing

Despite having great print quality, the HP OfficeJet 250 performs poorly when printing in black and white. It prints black-only text pages very slowly, has a low page yield, and is unable to scan or print documents that are double-sided. If you print a lot, you’ll need to replace the cartridge frequently. Positively, despite the page yield, high-yield cartridges are still reasonably priced per print and should last longer.

Photo printing

For printing pictures for casual use, the HP OfficeJet 250 works well. It is quite good at reproducing small details, and although it doesn’t have the highest color fidelity, it’s still good enough for occasional home or travel printing of photos. However, there is noticeable graining in the color transitions. Printing photographs is reasonably priced, however if you want to print in color frequently, replacing the color cartridge might get costly due to its poor page yield. Sadly, it is unable to print 2″ x 3″ pictures.
